  1. Automatic Mode - A setting that sets the white, exposure and focus-balance automatically. 
  2. Burst Mode or Continuous Capture Mode - a number of pictures taken one after another at quickly timed intervals with one press in the shutter button. 
  3. Compression - The procedure of compacting digital data, text and images by deleting selected information.

  6. Lag Time - The pause between your time the shutter button is pressed and whenever the digital camera actually captures the photo 
  7. LCD - (Liquid-Crystal Display) can be a small screen on a digicam for viewing images.
  8. Lens - A circular and transparent glass or plastic piece which includes the function of collecting light and focusing it about the sensor to capture the picture. 
  9.  Megabyte - (MB) Measures 1024 Kilobytes, and refers to the quantity of information inside a file, or simply how much information can be contained with a Memory Card, Harddrive or Disk. 
  10. Pixels - Tiny units of color that make up digital pictures. Pixels also measure digital resolution. 1 million pixels adds up to one mega-pixel. 
  11. RGB - MeansGreen and Red, Blue colors suited for computers to produce all the other colors. 
  12. Resolution - Camera resolution describes the amount of pixels accustomed to create the image, which determines the quantity of detail a camera can capture. The greater pixels a camera has, the better detail it may register and the larger the picture can be printed. 
  13. Storage Card - The removable storage device which holds images taken with the camera, comparable to film, but much smaller. Also called a digital camera storage device... 
  14. Viewfinder - The optical "window" to appear through to compose the scene. 
  15. White Balance - White balancing adjusts the digital camera to compensate for the kind of light (incandescent, fluorescent and daylight etc.,) or lighting conditions from the scene thus it will appear normal to the human eye.
